Ruby Lee Kiel, 84, of Carmine, TX, died April 22, 2004, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Kiel was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Carmine, to Herman and Mary Kieke Eichler. She was baptized May 2, 1920, in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine and was confirmed April 9, 1933, in the same church. She attended La Bahia and Carmine schools. On April 9, 1941, she married Herbert Kiel in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Mrs. Kiel was the owner of K&K Sausage. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the La Bahia Cemetery Association and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kiel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Kiel, in 1986; and two sisters, Bernice Rohde and Mary Belle Krause. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25 in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with Pastor Paul Bohot officiating. Burial will be in the La Bahia Cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home in Burton.
