Ruby Lentz

Ruby Paula Lentz, 90, of Brenham, died Oct. 2, 2015, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Ruby Lentz will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6 at Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Mrs. Lentz was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Burton, TX, to Reinhard E. and Laura Minna Wickel Makowsky. She was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine by Pastor Karl Mueller and was confirmed at the same church on April 2, 1939 by Pastor Carl Ziehe. On Jan. 11, 1948, she was married to Edgar E. Lentz at Emmauel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. Mrs. Lentz was a grocery checker and beautician. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she was a member of the Ladies Afternoon Circle. Survivors include her son, Edgar Lee Lentz of Brenham; and sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris Lentz, Louise and Bert Sibley and Shirley Hackemack. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Lee Dell Makowsky, Kirby Albert Makowsky and Melvin E. Makowsky; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fritz and Emma Meyer Lentz; brothers-in-law, Gus, Alex and Fritz Lentz, and Al Masaryk; and sisters-in-law, Ora Nell Marshall, Emma Jean Lentz, Allyne Lentz and Mary Lueck.
