Ruby Mcabee

Ruby Beatrice McAbee, 75, of Burton, died March 21, 2005, at her residence. Mrs. McAbee was born April 25, 1929, in Connell s Point, Arkansas, to Sam and Easter Grider Hill. On May 21, 1949, she was married to Ed McAbee in Barton, Arkansas. Mrs. McAbee was a homemaker. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Kathie and Bill Thompson of Palatka, Florida, Lucie Barnette of Red Lodge, Montana and Jan and Robert Stephens of Cleveland, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Cindy McAbee of Houston; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and brothers, David Hill of Moore, Oklahoma and John Hill of Lexa, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed McAbee, on Aug. 2, 1997; one brother, Clark Hill; and sisters, Sarah Dawson and Susie Glasco. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24 in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ Building Fund or Southern Care Hospice.
