Ruby Huseman Seeker On August 29, 2004 after a long courageous battle with cancer, Ruby lost her battle and passed on to a better life. Ruby was born April 20, 1929 in William Penn, Texas; the third daughter of John and Hilda Huseman. She was baptized in William Penn and confirmed April 2, 1944 by Pastor C. J. Appel. Ruby attended William Penn schools, Blinn Junior College, and Sam Houston State. On June 4, 1950 she married Gus Seeker at William Penn Lutheran Church. Ruby taught school for several years William Penn. She was an active member of the Altar Guild in Bay City for many years. She sang in her church choir, in weddings, graduations, and other special occasions. She was a Den Mother, a Pink Lady, and was always active in the PTA. She also served as an officer of the Band Parents, Aggie Mothers Club, and the Fine Arts Club in Bay City. In Brenham she served on many committees at St. Paul s and was an officer of her Wednesday afternoon circle. Survivors include her husband of 54 years Gus, son Rick, daughter Patty Lam and son-in-law Mark. Grandchildren Kelly Seeker, Madison Seeker, and Hannah Lam. She also leaves behind many caring and loving family members including her sister Johnnie Mae Luckemeyer. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Hilda Huseman, Linda Kettler, Don Luckemeyer, and sister Odell Kettler. Pallbearers will be John Kettler, Mark Kettler, Marcus Kettler, John Matthys, Donald Huseman, Bruce Boyd, Daniel Vyvial, and Ron Mills The family will be available for visitation on Tuesday, August 31st from 6:00p.m.-8:00p.m. The funeral service for Ruby Huseman Seeker will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 1, 2004, in St. Paul s Evangelical Church in Brenham. Burial to follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
