Ruth Annette Gaskamp, 63, of Brenham, died January 24, 2014 at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Ruth was born May 27, 1950 in Brenham to Alfred and Nelda Wieghat Gaskamp. After graduating Brenham High School, she obtained a bachelor''s degree from Southwest Texas State College. She served as an administrative assistant at her church. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Carrie Gaskamp of Kingwood, and two nephews: Clayton W. Gaskamp and wife Kristina, and Lucas Gaskamp and wife Megan. Also surviving are several aunts and uncles, as well as numerous cousins. Ruth was thankful for the many loving friends who supported her during her life. She was a prolific writer, detailing her travels, and researching various destinations throughout the world, even those she had not visited. She treasured time spent with a special friend in France, and remembered fondly her time living in Colorado. Serving as pallbearers are Fred Gaskamp, Charles Gaskamp, Clayton Gaskamp, Douglas Burk, Mike Kluck, and Ken Mutscher.
