Ruth Adel Engelmohr Schrader, 84, of Burton, passed away on July 7, 2013 in Brenham, Texas. Widow of Walter H. Schrader. Funeral arrangement are scheduled for Tuesday July 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John''s United Church of Christ with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg and Judy Sherman officiating. Burial will be in the St. John''s United Church Cemetery. Visitation with family and friends will be on Monday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Ruth was born in Burton on November 19, 1928 to August B. and Mammie Hopmann Engelmohr. She was baptized at Greenvine Baptist Church in Greenvine, confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Ruth was educated in the Burton School District. On July 1, 1951, Ruth married Walter H. Schrader at St. John''s United Church of Christ. Ruth worked as a secretary for the Glacier Wholesale Liquor Company and was a homemaker. Ruth enjoyed cooking, baking and dancing. Survivors; Sister-in-law Ruby Poncik and numerous cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband Walter, her parents, and brother-in-law Sylvester Butch Poncik. Serving as pallbearers are Rich Nelson, Edgar Dudensing Jr., Tom Mosely, A.K. Kasmiersky, Hilton Thompson and Christian Buck.
