RUTH STEEN Ruth Lillian Heinemann Steen, 79, formerly of the Mill Creek Community, died Friday, March 4th 2011, in a family home. She was born October 31, 1931 in the Mill Creek Community to Willie and Lillie Heinemann. Ruth was an active member of Greenvine Baptist Church, the church''s Women''s Missionary Fellowship, and a charter member of Goodfellows of Washington County. She received her education in the Brenham schools and Blinn College. She was married to William Steen at Greenvine Baptist Church on June 25, 1955 by Rev. Walter Gordon Gummelt. Ruth was a homemaker and loving mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband William and brother Willie Heinemann, Jr. Survivors include sons Gary Steen and wife Misti of Houston, Russell Steen and wife Rhonda of Houston, and Nathan Steen and wife Julie of Brenham. Grandchildren include Whitney and Cody Steen of Houston and Kimberly, Ryan, and Jillian Steen of Brenham. She also had many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and a loving relationship with her care-giver, Joyce Pribilski. The family will receive friends at visitation from 5 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenvine Baptist Church in Burton, TX. Rev. Alan Knuckles of DeRidder, LA will be officiating. Interment will be in the Greenvine Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Cody Steen, Ryan Steen, Roger Huebner, William Luedemann, Bobby Rippenhagen and Tommy Russell. Honorary pallbearers are Aubert Jaeger, Charlie Lange, Kirby Lehrmann, Lee Luedemann, Roy Luedemann, and Burney Schramme. Special music by Angela Heinemann Tharp. Memorials may be given to Greenvine Baptist Church.
