Sarah Hill

December 10, 1994 — June 2, 2019

Sarah Elizabeth Hill, 24, of Austin, Texas, tragically lost her life in a helicopter accident in Ozark, Arkansas, on Sunday, June 2, 2019.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1994, in Brenham to Scott and Gloria Hill. Immediately following high school, she moved to Austin and graduated from Texas State University in May of 2018 with a degree in marketing.

From the time she was very young, Sarah had an independent, free spirit that could not be contained. An ambitious worker who fully devoted herself to everything she undertook, she ultimately wanted to impact people and change the world for the better.

Sarah was a light in the darkest of rooms. She made friends wherever she went and touched the lives of everyone she came into contact with. She was fearless and always open to trying new things, living every day to the fullest.

Sarah was passionate about music and was in the process of starting a career in the event side of the music industry. Recently, she had started traveling across the country to work at different music festivals. She made many friends and connections in the electronic music scene, even though she was only a part of that community for a short time.

She is survived by her parents Scott and Gloria Hill; sisters Rebecca Greer and husband Jordan, Hannah Hill, Lydia Hill, Abigail Hill and Naomi Hill; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Sarah is preceded in death by grandparents Fred Hill, and Norma and Eugene Nowak, as well as George and Lillian Hiebeler. Lillian also passed on June 2, 2015 — the same date as her granddaughter’s death.

A memorial service to celebrate Sarah’s life and the special person she was will be held on Saturday, June 8 at 1 p.m. at Grace Community Fellowship, 107 S. Saeger St., in Brenham, with a time of fellowship immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sarah’s memory can be made to the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) at www.myhaam.org or to Women in Music at www.womeninmusic.org.
