A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Pastor John VanHaneghan. A lunch for family and friends will be held at the Salty Dog Ranch in New Ulm following the funeral.
Scott was born on July 13, 1962 in Houston, TX to Will and Betty Meischen. He graduated Cy-Fair High School. He married his wife, Nita Pippin on June 29, 2002.
Scott was an amazing husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He loved cooking and on Sundays could often be found in his garage “the man cave” cooking stews and chili or grilling for his family. His favorite place to be was at the Pop-A-Kap in New Ulm. At the Pop-A-Kap he loved listening to the rain on the tin roof, hunting and fishing on his land, working outside and listening to polka hour on the radio. Scott truly enjoyed life and was never in a hurry. Every deer or wildlife he saw he took the time to stop and enjoy and acted as though it was his first time seeing a deer. The greatest pride and joy of Scott’s life were his grandchildren, Callan his “little buddy”, Michael his “little partner” and River his “butter bean”. He would start and end his days watching videos and looking at pictures of them and checked-in on them every day. Nothing made him happier than seeing his grandchildren enjoying the outdoors at the Pop-A-Kap.
Scott is survived by his mother, Betty Meischen: Wife, Nita Meischen: Brother and sister-in-law Blake and Angie Meischen: Daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Tom Currie: Son, Tyler Meischen: Daughter, Jordan Meischen, Step-daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Scott Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Callan and River Currie, Michael Van Lue Jr. and Nicholas and Zachary Kilpatrick: nephew and nieces. Dalton Meischen, Lacey Liebscher and Morgan Mitchell.
He is preceded in death by his father, Will Meischen.
