Shirlene Lillian Lehmann, 77, of Brenham, widow of Emmett Lehmann, died peacefully on April 24, 2014 at her residence in Brenham. Visitation with the family will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014 at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastors Phil Fenton and Kindlee Lund officiating. A private burial will be held for the family prior to the service. Mrs. Lehmann was born December 7, 1936 in Dime Box, Texas to Eugene and Lillie Wotipka Juergens. She was baptized March 28, 1937, and confirmed April 6, 1952. Shirlene graduated from Brenham High School, and married Emmett Lehmann on October 23, 1955 at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, where she continued membership until her death. She was a member of the church council, the ELCA General Board, the Altar Guild, and the Wednesday Noon Circle. In addition to serving on other various committees at the church, she also assisted with Bible School. Shirlene was retired from Germania Insurance Co. after 28 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Lehmann was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and gardening. She adored her grandson, Thomas, who was her "sunshine boy". Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lori and Larry Gallo of Cypress and Lee Ann and Roger Chambers of Burton; grandson, Thomas Jeffry Gallo; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Florene Juergens; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lenard and Ruth Lehmann and Esther Lehmann, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Lehmann; son, Jeffry David Lehmann on Aug. 29, 1981; infant brother, Charles Gene Juergens, her parents; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Henry and Clara Lehmann, and brother-in-law Eugene Lehmann. Pallbearers will be Mark Lehmann, Alan Lehmann, John Parker, Jeryl Finke, Scott Finke and Jay Lightfoot. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Wednesday Noon Circle, St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul''s Christian Day School, 305 W. 3rd, Brenham, Tx. 77833, or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 E. Blue Bell Road, Brenham, Tx. 77833.
