Shirley Paetz

Shirley Ann (McCurry) Paetz passed away peacefully on December 12, 2024, in Brenham, Texas. She was born on December 16, 1945, in Fresno, California, to Forrest and Edna (Spree) McCurry.

After graduating from high school Shirley attended college at South Texas Business School and then worked in sales in the retail industry.

She was married to Richard Henderson Theriot and to their union two sons, Bart and Wesley Theriot were born. After Richard's death she married Charles Paetz.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Edna McCurry; husband, Richard Theriot; and second husband, Charles Paetz.

Surviving Shirley are sons and daughters-in-law, Bart (Cindy) Theriot of Hemphill and Wesley (Stephanie) Theriot of Angleton; brothers & sisters-in-law, Alton (Georgette) McCurry of Chappell Hill, Wayne (Janice) McCurry of Seguin and sister and brother-in-law, Marlene (Tim) Kennard of Georgetown. In addition, she is survived by grandchildren Christina (Chris) Reed, Calvin (Camile) Theriot, Jennifer (Robert) Rodriguez and Lucas Theriot; and great-grandchildren, Waylon, Korbyn & Tidus Reed, Leo and Margot Theriot, Michael Theriot and Sophia Rodriguez.

Visitation for Shirley Paetz will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at Memorial Oaks Chapel, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 19th, at Grace Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. The burial will follow on Friday, December 20th at 1:00 p.m. at Premont Cemetery in Premont, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Paetz will be Calvin Theriot, Lucas Theriot, Zachary Kennard, Chris Reed, Robert Rodriguez and Jonathan Novick. Honorary pallbearers will include her great-grandsons; Benn McCurry, Tim Kennard, Randal Hoppens, Paul Schulze, Charles Blake and Don Becker.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, Brenham, Texas.
