Sigmund August Fieseler, 80, died December 4, 2014 in Oakland Manor Nursing Home in Giddings. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Fieseler was born May 24, 1934 in Washington Co. to Ernest Sr. and Minnie Borchgardt Fieseler. He was baptized July 8, 1934 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin by Pastor Wm. Utesch, and confirmed April 10, 1949 at Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor W. C. Poehlmann. He attended area schools, and served his country in the U. S. Army. On March 13, 1970, he was married to Doris Meinecke in San Antonio. She preceded him in death in 1994. Mr. Fieseler was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He was employed as a truck driver by Winn-Dixie, and later worked for Woodson Lumber Co. Survivors include sisters Alice Macik, Mildred Bartos, Jo Ann Reimer, Esther Lampe and husband Alfred; sister-in-law Laura Fieseler; brother-in-law Edward Wiehe, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris; parents, Ernest Sr. and Minnie Fieseler; parents-in-law Arthur and Adeline Meinecke; brothers Ernest Jr. and Leroy Fieseler; sister Ruth Wiehe; brothers-in-law Frank Macik, James Reimer, and Joe Bartos; sister-in-law Margaret Fieseler. Serving as pallbearers are David Reimer, Stephen Lindemann, Jerry Niemeyer, Grady Niemeyer, Allen Bartos, Calvin Rodenbeck, Neal Reimer, and Roy Hegefeld. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville. Funeral arrangements for Sigmund August Fieseler are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
