Simon Quinteros, Jr.

March 17, 1956 — September 29, 2018

Simon Quinteros Jr., 62, of Brenham, died September 29, 2018, at his residence.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Pastor Evan Cameron and Deacon Oscar Valeriano officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Quinteros was born March 17, 1956, in Temple, TX, to Simon Sr. and Susie (Soto) Quinteros. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Temple.

On Nov. 24, 1979, he was married to Knellen Mae Remmert at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Mr. Quinteros was a retired signal maintainer for BNSF Railway.

Survivors include his wife, Knellen Mae Quinteros of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Jamie and Niomi Quinteros of Temple and Joel and Chelsea Quinteros of Tomball; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and James Mingori of Addison; grandchildren, Kayla Abigale Quinteros and Ryan Abigail Quinteros; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Dora Soto of Marlin; Ralph and Sandra Quinteros of Fairfield, CA and Tony and Lety Quinteros of Temecula, CA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Paul Ramirez of Troy and Marianna and Matt Jones of Tifton, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delbert and Malinda Schramm; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Francisco and Tomasa Quinteros; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Mary Remmert.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bright, Peter Clark, Lee Clary, Ronnie Gilbert, Fonz Gandara, J.D. Goodboard, Victor Martinez and Rick Nunez. All signal employees of the BNSF Railroad are considered honorary pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem or Hospice Brazos Valley.
