Sophie Mae Wendt Mueller, 90, the widow of Alfred Herman "Jack" Mueller, Jr., of Chappell Hill, died June 17, 2013, in Brenham. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Danny Wendt officiating. Burial will be in Phillipsburg Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Mueller was born June 9, 1923, in Hempstead, TX, to Edmond Daniel and Francis Bertha Fila Wendt. She was a graduate of Hempstead High School and attended Texas Women''s University in Denton. On February 22, 1943, she was married to Alfred Herman "Jack" Mueller, Jr. in Brenham. Mrs. Mueller was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. She loved her family. A compassionate, understanding and graceful person, Mrs. Mueller had a lot of long-term cherished friendships. Survivors include her son, Al Mueller of Chappell Hill; daughters and sons-in-law, Marjorie and Wilfred W. Krause of Brenham and Donna and Herb Graeber of College Station; grandchildren, Elizabeth Crow, Jackie and Doug Moore, Becky McCarty and special friend Dwayne Ahrens, Michelle and Shaun Winder; stepgrandchildren, Randy and Kami Krause, Kim Krause and special friend Farrell Lueke; great-grandchildren, Kaili Crow, Rayce Crow, Kianna Crow, Scotland Moore, Schuyler Moore, Sterling Moore, Starla Moore, Seth McCarty, Shelby Winder and Cami Winder; stepgreat-grandchildren, Nicholas Krause and Kamryn Krause; great-great-grandson, Jaxson McCarty; nephews, Danny Wendt and wife Pam, John Wendt and wife Yvonne, William E. "Bill" Mueller, Jr. and Mike Mueller; and niece, Vivian Houser and husband Tommy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mueller; parents, Edmond and Francis Wendt; brother, Malcolm Wendt; and sister-in-law, Laura Wendt.
