Stanley Flisowski, Jr.

Stanley "Speedy" Flisowski, Jr., 72, husband of Mildred Flisowski, died April 25, 2015. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church, with Pastors Charles Parnell and Toby Burk officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Speedy Flisowski was born February 9, 1943 in Brenham to Stanley Sr. and Helen Lewandowski Flisowski. He was baptized at St. Mary''s Catholic Church, where he was later confirmed. Stanley was then confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Salem Lutheran Church, where he continued membership until his death. Stanley attended Brenham area schools. On January 27, 1963, he was married to Mildred Koch at St. Mary''s Catholic Church. He was employed by Blue Bell Creamery in the fleet maintenance department. After his retirement from Blue bell, he worked for the LaRoche dealerships as a transport driver. Working on cars was a favorite hobby, as well as riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most especially treasured time spent at family gatherings. Spending time with his grandchildren was very special to him, as was traveling with his wife, Mildred. Survivors include his wife, Mildred; sons and daughters-in-law Lang and Sharon Flisowski of Brenham, and Lance and Leslie Flisowski of Fate; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Robert Hall of Huntsville; grandchildren Kaitlin and Landon Flisowski of Brenham; Harley, Stormy and Molly Hall of Huntsville, and Emma, Elise and Ewan Flisowski of Fate; brother and sister-in-law Albin "Beanie" and Brenda Flisowski of Brenham; brothers-in-law Bill Brayton of Katy, and John Koch of Brenham, as well as numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Johnnie Flisowski, and a sister, Dorothy Brayton. Serving as pallbearers are Billy Thaler, Wayne Blum, Stephen Draehn, Norris Wuensche, Dax Flisowski, Trevor Flisowski, John Koch, and Larry Joe Koch. His grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem. Funeral arrangements for Stanley "Speedy" Flisowski are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
