Steve Budnik

Steve Mike Budnik, 85, of Somerville, died November 14, 2013, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. The funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat with Father Bernard Hung, celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Budnik was born February 26, 1928 in Washington County, TX, to Albert and Mary Wiesnewski Budnik. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a retired railroad employee. Throughout his retirement he enjoyed working in his garden, playing dominoes, fishing, dancing and participating in his gun club. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family members. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Keridi Budnik of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Ricky Boeker of Brenham; grandchildren, Brittany Budnik, Shelby Budnik, Mandy and Jason Landry and Justin Wenckens; great-grandchildren, Kayla Kubeczka, Rhett Kubeczka and Stella Landry; and special friend, Henrietta Cunningham. Mr. Budnik was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters. Memorials may be given to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Frenstat.
