Steven Ramirez

Steven Louis Ramirez, 41, of Brenham, died December 10, 2018 in Houston.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Katrina Walther officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Steven was born August 26, 1977 in Baytown, TX, to Guadalupe (Wally) Ramirez and Petra Ramirez. On March 15, 2003, he was married to Sara Mackenroth in Shelby, TX.

Steven was a safety coordinator in the construction business. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, where he served on the church council. Family was important to him. He believed it was important to have his sons in church on Sundays, and he coached his son’s youth football team. He enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Ramirez of Brenham; sons, Tyler Louis Ramirez and Tyson Allen Ramirez, both of Brenham; mother, Petra Ramirez Smith of Brenham; father, Guadalupe Ramirez of Sweeney; stepmother, Marci Ramirez of Sweeney; grandmother, Juanita Ramirez of Sinton; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Carrie Ramirez of Willis; niece, Katelyn Elyse Ramirez; nephew, Shane Stephens; mother-in-law, Joyce Mackenroth of Brenham; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Diane Mackenroth of Brenham; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lindsay Makay Ramirez; stepfather, Melvin Smith; and father-in-law, Travis Mackenroth.

Pallbearers will be Tony Nieto, David Moore, Brady Lovins, Christopher Ramirez, Larry Jeff Constante, Daniel Mackenroth, Steve Rios and Matt Supak. All friends and relatives will be considered honorary pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
