Sue Ellen (Terry) Markos went home to meet her savior on February 23, 2018 surrounded by her family and loved ones. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Monday, February 26th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27th.
Sue Ellen Terry was born on September 11, 1948 in Kingsville, Texas to Charles and Crystal (Constantine) Terry. The only daughter of five children, she attended school in Kingsville and graduated from King High School in 1966. She married Robert (Bob) Markos in 1969 and they lived in Bishop, Texas where she was a full time mother to their four children: Kimberly, Kelly, Kirk and Kenneth. After the children were all in school, she went to work making purses for the King Ranch Saddle Shop but eventually ended up working as an office assistant for Celanese for over 20 years. After she and Bob both retired from Celanese, they moved to Brenham to be closer to their grandchildren.
In addition to being a fantastic seamstress, Sue was known for her crafting skills and her party planning abilities. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and fishing with Bob. Her greatest joy though came from being Mammaw to her ten grandchildren. She selflessly gave her time and talents to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing with them, going on adventures with them, watching them play or perform and just being near them.
Sue leaves behind her devoted husband of 48 years, Robert Markos of Brenham, children; Kimberly and James Hudson of Brenham, Kelly and Cindy Markos of Burton, Kirk and Joan Markos of San Antonio, Kenneth Markos and Mary Markos of Corpus Christi, grandchildren; Scott Hudson, Sarah Hudson, Kaley Markos, Emily Markos, Libby Markos, Donovan Greer, Kyle Markos, Jered Markos, Kelsie Markos and Joshua Markos, brothers: Mark Terry and wife Peggy, and Steve Terry and wife Linda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Crystal Terry and brothers Bobby and Dave Terry.
Serving as pallbearers are Craig Terry, Travis Terry, Larry Felder, Gil Franke, Mike Kastner, Dale Moerbe. Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Terry and Bill Christiansen.
The family would like to give special thanks to the entire team of nurses and aids from Hospice Brazos Valley. Their loving care was truly exceptional.
Memorials can be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham.
