Suzie Zievert

Funeral services for Suzie Theresa Zievert, 78, of Chappell Hill, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, with Father Jozef Musiol officiating. Burial will take place at Brookside Cemetery in Houston at 3 p.m. Thursday. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Zievert passed away April 12, 2014 in Houston. Suzie Gurka Zievert was born Sept. 3, 1935 in Chappell Hill to Pete and Annie Pawloski Gurka. She lovingly took care of her family as a homemaker. A member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill, she also served with the Altar Society. Survivors include sons Larry James Zievert and wife Kathelene of Oak Forest, Calvin Eugene Zievert and wife Theresa of Houston, Marion Wayne Zievert and Johnnie Lee Zievert, both of Chappell Hill; grandchildren Dustin Blaine Demny and Chrystal Michelle Zievert; brother and sister-in-law Frank and Ruth Gurka of Chappell Hill, and sister, Dorothy Faterkowski of Houston. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding her in death was her husband, Johnnie Paul Zievert, a son, Ronnie Gene Zievert, and her parents. Serving as pallbearers are Justin Blaine Demny, Paul Derkowski, Philip Derkowski, Brian Derkowski, Joe Gurka, Darren Gurka, Paul Hernandez, and Chris Guillory. Memorials may be directed to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Chappell Hill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
