Sylvia Claudette Niemeyer, age 88 of Brenham, TX passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born February 24, 1933 in Fort Stockton, TX. She was the daughter of John Everett Harris and Bessie (Lee) Harris of Abilene, TX, who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Pam Wehmeyer of Brenham, TX and Melissa Wolf of Katy, TX; a son, Kevin Niemeyer of Leander, TX; sons-in-law David Wehmeyer and John G. Wolf IV (Gibby); and a daughter-in-law Louella (Kessel) Niemeyer. Sylvia also had six grandchildren, Jack Wolf and his fiancé Victoria Allen, Lucas Wolf, Blake Wehmeyer and his wife Kaileigh Wehmeyer, Brandon Wehmeyer and his wife Brandi Wehmeyer, Carlee (Niemeyer) Hooker and her husband Jacob Hooker, and Kelli (Niemeyer) Marshall and her husband Cameron Marshall. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, McKenzie Wehmeyer, Macie Wehmeyer, Mason Wehmeyer, and Evelyn Wehmeyer. Sylvia is also survived by her sister, Laverne Blanks of Stephenville, TX.
Sylvia was also preceded in death by her husband, Billie Ray Niemeyer of Brenham, TX, who passed away on September 12, 2014. Sylvia and Bill were married on March 13, 1959. Bill and Sylvia lived most of their married life in Brenham, where they raised their three children. Sylvia worked at St. Jude Hospital in Brenham in hospital administration, but primarily devoted her life to being a great mother and wife.
Although we are sad to lose our mother, our sadness is wrapped in joy, because we have no doubt that she has been reunited with her husband and joined God in his kingdom.
