T. Lueckemeyer

Theodore Woodrow T.W. Lueckemeyer, 88, of Brenham, died Feb. 2, 2006, at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Mr. Lueckemeyer was born Sept. 26, 1917, in the New Wehdem community of Austin County, TX, to Theo. and Lottie Chernosky Lueckemeyer. He was baptized in his parents home at New Wehdem and was confirmed in St. James Lutheran Church at New Wehdem. Mr. Lueckemeyer attended New Wehdem public schools and Blinn College. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II as a member of a medical corps attached to the Air Force. On Dec. 22, 1946, he was married to Evelyn Wiethorn in St. John s Lutheran Church at Prairie Hill by Pastor Gogolin. Mr. Lueckemeyer owned and operated T.W. Lueckemeyer Cabinet and Supply since 1962. He was a member of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and usher and served on the council and various committees. Mr. Lueckemeyer was a life member of VFW James F. Dillon Post 7104 and was a member of the American Legion Buddy Wright Post 48. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Lueckemeyer of Brenham; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Claudia and Wayne Giese of Brenham, Trish and Bryan Felt of Houston, Donna Lueckemeyer of Houston and Shelia Lueckemeyer of Houston; four grandchildren, Sheridan Slocumb and husband Jeff, Erin C. Giese, Eric Wayne Giese and Elizabeth Strangmeyer; a great-grandson, Jeremy Slocumb; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ed J. Lueckemeyer and Odell and Willie Mae Lueckemeyer, all of Brenham; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lula Broeker of Clear Lake and Lillian and Melvin Henske of Brenham; and sister-in-law, Ilene Lueckemeyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Lueckemeyer; and sister, Dorfey Blume. The family will receive visitors from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5 in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastors Lawrence Bade and Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham or the Parkinson s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018. Pallbearers will be his nephews: Billy Blume, Jim Blume, Larry Lueckemeyer, Ronnie Lueckemeyer, Russell Henske and Tommy Przyborski. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, in Brenham.
