Taylor Joseph Wick passed away May 7, 2023 surrounded by his family and friends. He was born in Houston, Texas on February 5, 1989. The family moved to Cypress, Texas when he was a baby and he spent his school years in Cy-Fair ISD. Many of Taylor’s lifelong friends visited him regularly during his battle with cancer and many were present when he took his last breath. He was always more animated when his friends arrived and when his nieces and nephews stopped by for a visit.
He enjoyed anime, woodworking, welding, gaming and most recently perfecting his marinade for pork tenderloin cooked using sous vide. You could never argue with him, because low and behold he was the keeper of all obscure facts … on everything! He volunteered for many years at our festivals for the Chappell Hill Historical Society, everything from working the parking lot to transporting the bands. He and his brother Jonathon also created trophy’s for many of the car shows held during the 4th of July parade event hosted by the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce. They welded, machined and lasered “found” gears, pistons etc into little works of art. Taylor was instrumental in developing techniques and products vital to our family business. He was innovative and able to think outside the box. Aside from his hobbies and work he was always up for helping an animal(s) in need. His companion Mugen was one of the many furry friends that he helped rescue.
Taylor is survived by his parents Janice and John Wick; brothers Jonathon (Lauren) Wick, and Zachary Wick, his sister Caitlin Salas (Gustavo); nieces and nephews; Kayden, Tinley and Barrett Wick and Camila Salas; and by his Grandmother Margaret (Strouhal) Reed. A special thanks to Zachary for his unlimited dedication to his brother, and to all of his friends that collectively spent so much time with Taylor, you all meant the world to him and you could see it in his face anytime one or all of you were around. A special thanks also to Jasmine and the entire Acara Hospice team, we truly could not have done it without you.
