Thelma Shultz

February 18, 1927 — November 6, 2022

Brenham, TX

Thelma aka ‘Tee’ Marie (Maynard) Shultz, age 95, while still holding the hand of her husband of 40 years, passed gently into the arms of The Lord at 0900 on the morning of Nov. 6, 2022 in Brenham, Texas.  She is survived by her husband, Thomas T. Shultz, daughter Brenda (Guthrie) Buehler and husband John of Columbus, Texas, son James A. Guthrie and wife Terri of Atlanta, Georgia, daughter Debbie (Shultz) Guldin and husband Tom of Lubbock, Texas, daughter-in-law Cindy Guthrie of Phoenix, Arizona, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Tee began her life journey in Nebo, Illinois in 1927.  She had 4 siblings and innumerable extended family. While visiting with her daughter in Texas in 1981, she met her future husband through a local singles group.

Over the years, she and her husband became members of a square-dancing group that toured through 7 different states. She was accomplished on the organ and often entertained friends and family.  Her passion and extraordinary talent were expressed in her oil paintings.  Her home and the homes of family and friends was often decorated with her artwork.

Tee and Tom sold their home in 1989 and bought a motor home. They spent the next 1 ½ yrs. traveling; visiting all 49 mainland states, all provinces of Canada and Mexico.  They visited Europe and enjoyed several cruises. Her lust for living was unquenchable.

Eventually she needed to ‘nest’ again and they settled in AZ.  where they continued to travel occasionally for the next 8 years.

In approx. 2012 they settled in Columbus Texas, later moving to Brenham, Texas.

Tee had a strong life-long faith that sustained her through many tragedies and losses during her life and allowed her to offer love so unconditionally.  She was a loving daughter and sister, mother, grandmother and friend.  Tee was a nurturer by nature.

Tee will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.

Rest gently in the arms of our Father and Savior.
