Theresa E. Michalak, 93, of Chappell Hill, died July 16, 2015 at her residence. A Rosary will take place at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Graveside Service scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 20, 2015 in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston. Theresa Michalak was born Dec. 19, 1921 in Chappell Hill to Pete and Cecelia Wozniak Tomczak. On Sept. 30, 1939, she was married to Stanley Michalak at St. Mary''s Catholic Church of Hempstead. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2010. Mrs. Michalak lovingly took care of her family as a homemaker, preparing wonderful meals for them, and was especially known for her delicious fried chicken. Her home was a favorite gathering place for the family, and she made everyone feel welcome. She was an avid gardener, growing both vegetables and flowers, and canned dewberries, pickles and tomatoes for her family to enjoy. Survivors include a daughter, Stella Sechelski of Navasota; daughter-in-law Linda Burkhalter of Lovelady; grandchildren: Phil Sechelski, Paul Sechelski, David W. Michalak, and Gena Calmes. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and a sister, Katie Frank of Brenham. Mrs. Michalak was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, David B. Michalak, and a great-grandson, Logan Sechelski. Funeral arrangements for Theresa E. Michalak are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
