Thomas Rogers

December 13, 1943 — November 27, 2024

Thomas Brooks Rogers was taken to be with his Savior on November 27, 2024 at the age of 80.

Born in Big Springs, Texas December 31, 1943 to Brooks and Helene Rogers. He graduated from Jefferson High School, San Antonio, Texas and attended Rice University, then transferred to Trinity University graduating with a MS in mathematics. While in school was a utility rate design analyst for City Public Service Board.

After graduate school was a Computer Programmer/Analyst at NASA/JSC with Lockheed Electronics and moved to Clear Lake. Married 13 yrs. with 2 children and remarried in 1995 and gained a stepdaughter and family.

Retired in 2006 after having the opportunity to see a lot of history made and fortunate to help make some of it.

Besides being a programmer, Tom was a Volunteer Fireman for 35 yrs. including being an Assistant Chief and Fire Marshall in Clear Lake and Friendswood Fire Departments.

Tom's hobby was collecting toy trains and he started this as a young child. He was involved in many train organizations, holding a President position once for the Gulf Coast Chapter TCA. Being a "Train Man" he road many trains across the US. Colorado was his favorite state to ride all the scenic trains.

After retirement, moved to Brenham where he was active in the First United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees and involved with Methodist Men.

Survived by his wife of 29 yrs. Christine and children: son William Rogers & his wife Rebecca, daughter Katherine Stone, and stepdaughter Dawn Golightly & her husband Jeff. Grandchildren: Jessica & George Rogers, Avery Stone, & Whitney & Kendall Golightly.

Celebration of Life at First United Methodist Church Brenham on December 12, 2024 at 1:00pm.

Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, or First United Methodist Church Brenham.
