Thomas Jefferson Townley, 78, died November 18, 2015 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Burial will follow in Friedens Cemetery in Gay Hill. Mr. Townley was born in Kosse, Texas on August 26, 1937 to Stephen Wallace and Mary Lou Thompson Townley. On Nov. 4, 1969, he was married to Alice K. Duesterhoft in Eagle Lake. He was retired from the City of Brenham, where he was employed in the Water and Sewer Department. Mr. Townley was a member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin. Survivors include his son, Larry Poehl of Somerville; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Willis Gilliam of Somerville; sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Bob Fay of Albuquerque, N.M.; Linda and James Estes of Franklin, and Betty Robinson of Rowlette; grandchildren: Cyndi, Larry and wife Amy, and Crystal; great-grandchildren: Ande, Kieler, Hannah, and Grace. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Mr. Townley was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Townley; brothers and sisters Frank Graham, Joe Townley, John Townley, Roger Townley, Jim Townley, Virginia Cubert, Frankie Mae Gill, and Betsy Ann Hill. Serving as pallbearers are Kelly Iselt, Ande Schoen, Randy Schwartz, David Schwartz, Jerry Schwartz, John Scott Fuller, Jr., Dean Townley, and James Townley.
