Tony Conner

Tony Wayne Conner, 64, passed away on Saturday September 25, 2021 in the comfort of his own home.

A service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., on October 2, 2021 at Grace Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Matthew Jacob and Assistant Pastor William Holzer. A visitation will be Friday October 1, 2021, with family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The burial will follow the service at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham ,TX.

Tony was born on August 25, 1957 to Thomas Raleigh Conner and Martha “Jean” Holcomb. He was baptized into the Baptist Faith, and later confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church. Tony married his wife Rhonda Gale Hendrickson on February 24, 1979 at Grace Lutheran Church.

In his younger days he enjoyed fast-pitch softball, and was known as a cowboy. Later he was an umpire in softball. He loved golf and watching his loved children play sports and his grandson play baseball. Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, the Aggies and sitting in his lawn chair and feeding the birds. Known as the “pit-master” when he cooked barbecue, and the “happiest, jolly soul when it came to Christmas”, he also enjoyed taking his granddaughters on special day trips and getting his toes done with them! Tony appreciated his beloved family time including fishing and hunting with his dad, or “Papa”, brother, son, son-in-law, grandson and nephew.

Tony is survived by his son, Jaylon Conner; daughter, Kassie Conner; daughter and son-in-law Krissie and Jake Zorn; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas Raleigh Conner Jr. (Tommy) and Shelly Conner; grandchildren, Conner Holcomb Zorn, Tinley Ryan Conner, Karsyn Grey Zorn and step grandson Brody Zorn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Hendrickson of Bellville, Henry and Marcy Hendrickson of Burton, Ricky and Paula Hendrickson of Brenham; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marylin and Adolph Schaefer of Brenham, Gloria and Steve Schrock of Hempstead, Cheryl and Darrell Meier of Brenham, Margaret Reuter of Brenham; and special friend, Lyn Thomasson of Burleson; and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Gale Hendrickson; parents, Thomas Raleigh Conner and Martha “Jean” Holcomb; and mother and father-in-law, Henry and Secilia Hendrickson.

Pallbearers are Conner Zorn, Thomas Conner III, Dwayne Breshears, Craig Russell, Leland Spann, Nicholas Vierus, Shelby Heidemann, Dax Flisowski and Eric Dieterich. Honorary pallbearers are his brother-in-laws and nephews.
