Tracy Edward Meadows, 63, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, after a second brain-stem stroke. The son of George and Vivien Meadows, Tracy was born in Refugio on November 12, 1948. He attended Memorial High School in Houston, and the University of Texas at Austin. Tracy began his business career as a home builder and general contractor. Before his first stroke in September 2008, he was a sales consultant at Appel Ford in Brenham, and worked with a very high-minded sales staff, and was proud to know that he always represented their best interests. Tracy was a devoted husband and father, and will be remembered for making significant contributions toward developing his sons'' talents as baseball players, and later guiding them to become successful young men. Tracy was an active and dedicated member of the Masonic fraternity. He was a past master of both Navasota Lodge No. 299 and Washington Lodge No. 18, and was a charter member of St. Alban''s Lodge No. 1455 in College Station. He was also a member of University Lodge No. 1190 in Austin. For many years, Tracy was known throughout the Brazos Valley for his ability to instruct and perform the Masonic ritual in all three degrees, holding an "A Certificate" in the esoteric work. In the York Rite of Freemasonry, he was a past presiding officer of the Navasota York Rite bodies, and of Ivanhoe Commandery, Knights Templar. A 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Houston, he was a past president of the Bluebonnet Scottish Rite Club, a member of the John McGregor Chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew in Brenham, and in 2009 was honored by being invested a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Ruthann; children and spouses Kevin and Lori Goodyke of Howard City, Michigan, Michael and Julia Goodyke of Brenham, Texas, Missy and Brandon Hubert of Riviera, Texas, Timothy and Erin Meadows of Navasota, Texas, and LT Ford and Jennifer Meadows of Austin, Texas and NAF Atsugi, Japan; and grandchildren Austin and Alison Goodyke, Courtney and Brandon Goodyke, Caleb Hubert, and Trace and Molly Meadows. He is also survived by his brother and spouse, Richard and Connie Meadows of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and his sister, Jeanne Stovall of Tyler, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vivien Meadows, and his brother-in-law, Tom Stovall. Visitation is set for 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 3rd, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Friday by the Rev. Bob Leslie at Memorial Oaks Chapel, followed by Masonic graveside services at Oak Rest Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers are John Fultz, Pete Normand, Tex Maxson, Jeff Nobles, David Keelan and Doug Powell. Honorary pallbearers will include Tracy''s Masonic brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Navasota Lodge Building Fund c/o Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
