Tristan George Carmean, “Tritt” or “George” to those that were close to him, suddenly departed this life on February 24, 2018 in Brenham, TX.
Tritt was born on March 28, 1996 in Houston to Crystal Michelle (Johnson) Pickens and Shannon Howard Carmean. He graduated from Bellville High School in June of 2014 and was currently attending Blinn College.
Tristan was a very loving and caring person, with a beautiful and heartwarming smile. Those that were close to him will always treasure the time he was with them.
Tristan loved being outdoors, whether it was to hike, garden, or sleep, and he would do whatever he could to reduce his impact on the environment. Last year he became a member of Blinn’s Phi Theta Kappa and the Lion’s Club where he met many great friends and performed a variety of services for the community. He was so full of hope, empathy, and compassion for all forms of life. One of his best qualities was his ability to radiate the brightest joy at all times despite however he may have felt inside.
He prided himself on looking his best every day, no matter where he went or what he was doing. Tristan could be driving around in a hurricane, roaming the aisles of a hardware or thrift store, doing yard work, or roaming through forests and mountains, but you would never catch him looking anything less than astounding.
He truly appreciated the little things life had to offer. He always made do with what he had, never taking anything for granted. He longed to find purpose and meaning in life, which spurred him to take up many hobbies and endlessly pursue knowledge. Creativity never stopped flowing from Tristan. He was an excellent poet and artist. He was a member of the Blinn choir and he was learning how to play guitar and piano. He enjoyed reading anything from Buddhist text to Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
Tristan was a creative old-soul with a constant ache to find meaning and purpose in life. His journey was tumultuous and beautiful, it molded him into an amazing person. He cherished his family above all else—they were his best friends.
One member of his family was especially important to him, his one and only niece, Briar, whom he loved more than anything in this universe and was the one person that could always make him smile when he was feeling down. Briar adored her Uncle Tritt as much as Tritt adored her. If Briar could formulate the words, she would tell you how utterly magnificent Tristan was. She would tell you all about the vacuum he fixed just for her. She would tell you he’s a crazy old man. She would tell you how patient and caring he was. She would tell you about the dozens of locust shells he helped her collect last summer. She would tell you about their walks to the mailbox. She would tell you her Uncle George was the best friend she could ever have.
Tristan leaves behind his mother, Crystal, and stepfather, John; his oldest brother, William and his girlfriend Angela, who were both one of Tritt’s closest friends and confidants; his older brother Rowdy; his youngest brother Benjamin; his niece, Briar, whom he adored beyond words; and the great love of his life, Madison, who was his “sun” —a source of light and comfort in his world. Tritt is also survived by his grandparents: Katherine Johnson, Thomas Johnson Sr., Bill and Linda Carmean; his great-grandmother, Lillian Lunday; his uncles, Thomas Johnson Jr. (Kristina), Matthew Johnson; his aunts, Robin Higgins (Steven), Tammy Lee (Joel), Heather Page (Randy); and numerous cousins and relatives.
Tritt was preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Ben and Martha Dahse; John and Estelle Carmean; Jewel Johnson, Sr.; Jeanette Perkins; George Lunday; his uncle, Christopher Johnson; his aunt, Elisabeth Johnson Muegge; his cousin, Rusty Higgins; and relatives Hannah (Rudy) Sturm and Charles Dahse.
To respect Tristan’s wishes the family will not be holding any services. A private family gathering will instead be held to reminisce upon his life.
Arrangements for Tristan Carmean were entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham. To post a tribute to the family, visit www.memorialoakschapel.com.
