Troy Rudloff

Troy Don Rudloff, 54, of Round Top, Texas passed away May 27, 2018 unexpectedly in his home with his wife by his side.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby with Pastor John David Nedbalek officiating. Burial will follow in Shelby Cemetery.

Troy was born to Percy Rudloff and Norma Bathe Rudloff in LaGrange, Texas on August 29, 1963. He was a devoted Lutheran, having been baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top on November 3, 1963, as well as confirmed on April 19, 1978. He then was married to Vicki Braun Rudloff on July 27, 1991 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Shelby.

He spent most of his years working in Law Enforcement, starting out at LaGrange Police Department from 1984-1989, then for the Fayette County Constables from 1990-1996. The majority of his career was spent with Flatonia Police Department from 1998-2017 where he become lieutenant up until his retirement in December of 2017. He was also an avid member of the Round Top Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department, where he was given the title “The Reverend” since he was elected to be the department chaplain.

The majority of his youth was spent with his best friends Brady and Larry and Mike. He was an avid hunter and loved relaxing at the deer lease in Fredericksburg, Texas with family and friends. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his grandsons, and loved going on the occasional ride with his son-in-law Andrew in the big truck.

Troy is survived by his wife, Vicki Braun Rudloff, children; Mandi and son-in-law Drew Hedgpeth, Allysa and son-in-law Andrew Wagner, grandsons; Raiden Hedgpeth and Hunter Wagner, parents; Percy and Norma Rudloff, brother; Ricky Rudloff, nieces; Megan Runge and Diana Champagne, along with their spouses and children, as well as many other family members and friends.

Troy is preceeded in death by grandparents; Walter and LeoNora Rudloff, Frank and Frieda Bathe, grandparent-in-laws; Benjamin and Hedwig Braun, and ET and Helen Wickson, uncles and aunts; Rubin and Lois Rudloff, Anita Rudloff, Elfrieda Leber, Benjamin and Doloris Bathe.

The family wishes to express its sincere appreciation to all friends and family for their well wishes and prayers. The family also requests that any memorials be directed to the Round Top Warrenton Volunteer Fire Department.
