Tyler David McDonald, 22, was killed in a tragic car accident on August 2, 2008. Tyler was born on Easter Sunday, March 30, 1986 in Houston, Texas. He attended Blinn College after he graduated from Burton High School in 2004, and then graduated with honors in 2007 from Texas State Technical College where he studied Diesel Equipment Technology. He started his career at Mustang/Caterpillar in Bryan/College Station. Tyler was a beloved son whose life was short but was so full of life and love for all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face, from the moment he was born until his untimely death. Tyler was involved in football, Ag, and FFA during high school. He loved showing pigs and even won the Star of Texas in Austin in 2002. Tyler also loved to hunt and fish. He loved old cars, his dogs, his horse, and anything else outdoors. He left an impact on everyone he met, from his family to his friends, to his numerous other "Moms". Tyler will be deeply missed by all. Surviving are his parents, John and Peggy Crotchett of Burton, and David and Elizabeth McDonald of Needville; his brothers Justin B. McDonald of Gonzales, and Paul M. Jurkonis II of Needville; his grandmothers, Juanita Graf of Burton, Mrs. E. McDonald of Houston, and Sandra Petley of Inverness, Florida. He was preceded in death by a great-grandmother Nettie Ruff and three grandfathers, Thomas J. Graf, Floyd E. McDonald and William J. Petley. Funeral services for Tyler David McDonald will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, with Pastor Greg Felder officiating. Burial will follow in St. John''s UCC Church Cemetery in Burton. Visitation with family and friends will take place Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are Justin McDonald, Paul Jurkonis II, Jason Hubbard, Travis "Twitch" Lehmann, Cody "Cotton" Muske, Travis "Sawed-Off" Schoenberg, Bradley "Mudcat" Nienstedt, and Cody "Indian" Bozarth. Honorary pallbearers are Mickey Steele, Derrick "Dirty" Smith, Travis "Dushon" Schmidt, Kirby Tappe, Josh Guelker, Raylon Zwernemann, Wade "Mervy" Weigelt, Jimmy Symmington, Scott "Scooter" Cooke, Mitchell Ray, Chris Paschke, Lane "Shaggy" Martin, Scott Heintschell, Charlie Heintschell, Doug Newton, Ryan "Tuffy" Nienstedt, Heath Durham, and Elliot Davis. Memorial contributions can be made to Burton State Bank for the Tyler McDonald Scholarship Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
