Verdell A. Toll, 78, widower of Beatrice Fay Toll, died October 12, 2015 at Southern Knights Assisted Living Center in Tomball, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Mark Gentry officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Verdell Toll was born September 18, 1937 in Waldeck, Texas to Helena Koopmann and August Toll, Jr. On June 16, 1957, he married Beatrice Fay Schulz at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. Beatrice preceded him in death on March 29, 2013. For forty-five years Verdell and Beatrice owned and operated Toll Upholstery. He was a graduate of Round Top-Carmine High School and was a member of Hwy. 290 Church of Christ in Brenham and was a song leader in the church. He played piano, guitar, and fiddle in country and western bands; played with Hank Williams and also played with the Louisiana Hayride. Verdell is survived by son Ricky Dale Toll of Austin; daughter and son-in-law Vicki and Chris Pennington of Magnolia; 5 grandchildren: Casey Martin, Jeremy, Timothy and Emily Pennington; Kimberly Bollmann and husband Jordan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Irene Zwahr of Danberry, Delta Schneider of Guy, Donna and Elroy Issleib of Austin and Martin and Judy Schulz of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice, son Jeffrey Martin Toll, his parents and two brothers. A very special thanks goes to the ladies at Southern Knights Assisted Living Center.
