Verlin Boecker, 85, widow of Leroy C. Boecker, died May 22, 2009 in Trinity Care Center. Mrs. Boecker was born July 2, 1923 to Fritz and Emily Loesch Tiemann in the New Wehdem community of Austin County. She was baptized August 12, 1923 by Rev. H. A. Heineke in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, and confirmed there April 10, 1938 by Rev. R. A. Schmidt. On October 24, 1948, she was married to Leroy C. Boecker by Rev. G. C. Sonff, also, at St. James. Mrs. Boecker was a homemaker. Mrs. Boecker was a life member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem and was a member of the Martha Circle. Verlin and Leroy made their home in the Phillipsburg community until November 11, 1979, when they moved to Brenham. She was a homemaker. Survivors are a sisters-in-law, Margaret Tiemann of Brenham and Gladys Tiemann of Bellville, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Ella Boecker; brothers, Melvin Tiemann, Theo Tiemann, and Henry Tiemann; three sisters Minnie Weiss, Emma Sander, and Selma Sander; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Dan Weiss, Erwin Sander, Paul Sander, and Lenora and Herbert Haevischer, and Gladys and Fred O. Boecker; niece Rosaly Sander and one great-nephew, Aaron Paul Tiemann. Funeral services for Verlin Boecker will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Pastor Jill Vivroux will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Rudy Tiemann, Nelson Wellmann, Erwin Sander, Gene Bosse, Kenneth Pieper, and Ralph Tiemann. Honorary pallbearers are Lenard Lehmann, Rev. Ray Tiemann, Roger Draehn, Odis Haynes, Charles Haberman, Floyd Kobs, and Jerry Moreno.
