Verna May Struck Reuter, 79, widow of Lavern Reuter, died August 16, 2015 at Brenham Rest Home. Verna May Reuter was born January 13, 1936 in Burton to Marvin Sr. and Annie Schulz Struck. She was baptized at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, where she was married to Lavern Wilburn Reuter on Nov. 6, 1955 by Pastor A. T. Kluge. Verna May was employed for many years at Old Brazos Forge as a welder. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg until her death. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include a son, John S. Reuter of Houston; grandchildren, Chase Reuter and Ashlee Reuter; a dear sister, Nora Lee Goldberg of Burton; brother, Marvin Struck, Jr., of Somerville; sister-in-law Dolores Wessels; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wilburn and Gloria Reuter; brother-in-law Kervin Reuter; special friends, Wilma Boeker, Esther Klatte, LaVern Reuter, and Harvey and Floya Ann Merten, as well as her dear friend, Stephanie Reuter, the mother of her grandchildren. Verna May is also survived by her two beloved pet companions, Lucky and Pepper. Verna May was preceded in death by her husband, Lavern Wilburn Reuter; daughter, Melissa Reuter; parents, Marvin Sr. and Annie struck; mother-in-law and father-in-law Erwin and Edna Reuter; brother-in-law Monroe Goldberg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Lorine and Elwood Domaschk; brother-in-law Wilburn "Bootsie" Wessels, and a niece, Cynthia Dawn Goldberg. Her nephews and family friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg.
