Vernell (Pohlmeyer) Gaddy, 84 of Brenham, went home to her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at William Penn Bethlehem Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Internment will follow at the Wm. Penn Bethlehem Lutheran Church cemetery. Visitation is set for Monday, March 18 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Vernell was born on June 8, 1934 in William Penn, Washington County to Willie C. and Bertha Pohlmeyer. She was baptized on July 1, 1934 at Wm. Penn Bethlehem Lutheran Church by the Reverend C.J. Appel, and was confirmed into the Christian Faith on March 21, 1948 by the Reverend C.J.. Appel.
She was a lifelong member of Wm. Penn Bethlehem Lutheran Church and graduated from Brenham High School in 1952. She was employed at Maddox Furniture and Bluebell Creamery until her retirement in 2003.
She is preceded in death by her parents Willie C. and Bertha Pohlmeyer, one brother Glen Earl Pohlmeyer, and one brother-in-law Phillip (Pat) Schied
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law Randy and Sharon Gaddy, Rodney Gaddy and Karol Gaddy; daughter Colleen Latham, all of Brenham, and grandchildren Leslie and Arturo Maya, Kaci and special friend Jessie Torrez, Jennifer Luera, Amanda and Kevin Watson and Brandy Gaddy. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren: Alexis, Kayla and Marc Maya, Reece Maynor, Landon and Harlee Duckett, Kennedy Gaddy, Benson Rodriguez and Amara Torrez, along with sisters-in-law Geraldine Pohlmeyer of Brenham, and Venita Schied of Georgetown.
Serving as pallbearers will be Don Pohlmeyer, Steve Chalk, Daryl Lueckemeyer, Duane Luekemeyer, James Schroeder, and Jeffry Lange.
Honorary Pallbearers are Arturo Maya, Mark Kopycinski, and Donald Lange.
The family wishes to thank Pastor Mark Moldenhauer, and Hospice of the Brazos Valley nurses for taking such good care of her during her final weeks.
Memorials may be made to Wm. Penn Bethlehem Lutheran Church, or Hospice of the Brazos Valley.
