Vernell Mason

Vernell Lillian Boehnemann Mason, 86, died November 1, 2012 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, with Pastor Rich Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in La Bahia Cemetery. Vernell Mason was born September 25, 1926 in Burton to Friedrich Johannes and Lydia Refina Fuchs Boehnemann. Baptized October 31, 1926, she was confirmed March 17, 1940. On November 23, 1947, she married John Hoover Mason in St. Martin''s Lutheran Church in Austin. Vernell was a homemaker, lovingly taking care of her home and family. Survivors include her husband, John Mason; sons William John Mason and wife Madeline Ann Coblenz of Houston, and James Kevin Mason formerly of Smithville; grandson, Jack Mitchell Mason of Houston, and a sister, Arlyn Hearn of Gilbert, Arizona. Other surviving relatives include a nephew, Clay Hearn of Waco, niece, Gail Blackburn and husband Bret, and a great-niece, Britney Blackburn, all of Gilbert, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, or to any favorite charity.
