Vernice Densmore

Vernice May (Green) Densmore, entered her eternal rest September 7, 2017, at the blessed age of 90. A celebration of life service will be held September 23 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Christian Church in Burton. Interment will be in Perry, Ohio.

Vernice was born August 9, 1927, to Chester Arthur and Bernice (Young) Green. Vernice was gracious, witty and humorous, spreading smiles wherever she went, especially to the residents at High Hope Care Center in Brenham, where she lived the last three and a half years of her life.

In her younger years, Vernice was a homemaker, mother, gardener, excellent seamstress, fine cook and avid coffee drinker! Later she served with her husband Gordon in the ministry, first as pastor’s wife, then as a traveling representative for PastorCare. For many years she and Gordon engaged in their passion of square dancing.

Vernice was preceded in death three years ago by her lifelong sweetheart, Gordon. We rejoice in their dancing together again and enjoying sweet fellowship with their beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, David (Tamara) Densmore of Wadsworth, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn (Dean) Wall of Burton, Texas; grandchildren, David II (Dawn) Densmore, Timothy (Jenna) Densmore, Damian Wall, Gabriel (Judy) Wall and Janelle Lee; brothers-in-law, Robert (Beryl) Densmore and Donald (Karen) Densmore. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Vernice was preceded in death by husband Gordon, her parents, sister Bonivere Stone, grandson Daniel Lee Densmore, sister-in-law Marjorie Densmore and granddaughter-in-law Kathy Riffle Densmore.
