Vernie Klingsporn

Vernie Dell Minnie (Kirchner) Klingsporn, 86, passed away November 12, 2018 in Bryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Phil Fenton officiating. A private graveside service will take place preceding the funeral.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Vernie Dell Klingsporn was born Dec. 20, 1931 in Beasley, Texas to Andrew and Meta Schulz Kirchner. She was baptized February 7, 1932 at Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beasley by Rev. Hugo Probst. On December 19, 1954 she was married to Clifford Klingsporn.

Vernie Dell was employed by Southwestern Bell/ATT&T for 45 years. During her career she never missed a day of work. She started as a switch board operator, working the night shift, finishing her career in Brenham as Chief Operator, retiring soon thereafter. Vernie was also employed for several years as a funeral service assistant at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Vernie Dell loved playing with her grandsons in their early years, joyfully doing whatever they asked of her. She was always present at their sporting events as they grew older.

After retirement, she enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with her huband. After Clifford became ill, she became his loving and full-time caregiver.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bev Klingsporn; grandsons Andrew and Emilie Klingsporn and their daughters Lula and Milly, and Alex and Lauren Klingsporn and their son, Autry; brother-in-law Robert P. and wife, Doris Klingsporn; sister, Frances Hardan and husband Ralph. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; her parents, two sisters and one brother.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
