Vinita Neutzler

Vinita Bell Logan Neutzler, 80, widow of Oliver A. Neutzler, died Sept. 9, 2013 in Brenham Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, with Pastor Rich Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the La Bahia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapell. Vinita Neutzler was born October 11, 1932 in Markley, Texas to Leo Sr. and Allie Birdwell Logan. After completing her education, she moved to Houston, where she met Oliver Neutzler. They were married on Sept. 15, 1951 in Northside Lutheran Church in Houston. In 1953, the Neutzlers moved to Latium, where they worked side by side on the family farm. Vinta and Oliver worked in hamburger stands at La Bahia and Carmine Hall. She was employed by Jake''s Eggs, Kieke Egg Farm, Plueckhahn Egg Farm, and Wilton Hodde Egg Farm. Later, she served as a caregiver with the Brenham State School. Vinita was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, as well as the La Bahia Cemetery Association. Vinita and Oliver were a perfect match. Together, they watched baseball on t.v., especially enjoying the World Series. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren, and was always a willing babysitter. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Gary Pohl; grandson Michael Duane Pohl and wife Sara; granddaughter, Tanya Lee Pohl Hupe and husband Jason; great-granddaughters Brianna Renea Hupe and Taylor Pohl; great-grandsons Hayden Hupe and Garrett Hupe; brothers and sisters Earlyne Strawbridge, Robert Clyde Logan and wife Mary, Thelma Logan Neutzler, Marilyn Sue Logan Williams and husband Joe, Leo Logan, Jr. and wife Jesse Mae, Lynette Logan Facteau and husband Jim, sister-in-law Mary Dien Neutzler, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Oliver Dean Neutzler, brother Beryl, Daune and Johnnie Logan, brothers-in-law Lee Dell, Calvin and Franklin Neutzler, Jessie Srawbridge and Jimmy Smith; sister-in-law Glenda Logan; nephews Jody Strawbridge and DeWayne Neutzler; niece Shelia Logan; parents Allie Birdwell and Leo Logan, Sr., mother-in-law and father-in-law Ella Menn and Charles Neutzler, and a sister, Glora Logan Smith. Serving as pallbearers are Gary Pohl, Michael Pohl, Jason Hupe, Waldemar Schramm, Lloyd Neutzler, Ricky Kieke, Delbert Schmidt, and Roy Schmidt. All nieces, nephews and the extended family at Brenham Nursing and Rehab will serve as honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine.
