Vinnie Rene Schroeder Jaster, 70, wife of Glenn Jaster, passed away August 22, 2015 at her residence in Independence, with her family at her side. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Independence Baptist Church in Independence. Dr. Phil Hassell will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery. Vinnie Jaster was born Feb. 13, 1945 in Anderson to Ervin Fritz and Irene Dahmann Schroeder. She attended and graduated from Anderson area schools, Blinn College, and Sam Houston State University. She married Glenn Jaster on Jan. 22, 1967 at Zion Lutheran Church in Anderson. Upon completing her education, she began her teaching career in 1969 in Columbus, Hempstead and Brenham school districts Vinnie loved to fish with a canepole and an old bobbing cork. Attending livestock auctions with her family, reading and listening to the radio were also favorite pastimes. She looked forward to visiting relatives and playing cards. She lovingly took care of many pets throughout the years, and raised various animals on the farm.Vinnie became a member of Independence Baptist Church in 1985, and remained faithful until her death. Survivors include her husband, Glenn Allen Jaster of Independence; son and daughter-in-law Ross Allen and Gwendolyn Jaster of Iola; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Dusty Parker of Brenham; grandchildren: Tyler Wesley Kmiec and friend, Felicia Bennett; Tiffany Rosenkranz, Ronnie Parker, and Roy and Sarah Porter; great-grandchildren: Tyler Southernwood, and Asher Porter; sister-in-law Beverly Jaster. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Vinnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Irene Schroeder; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Otto and Elma Jaster, and a brother-in-law, Donald Jaster. Serving as pallbearers are David Dahmann, Trent Dierking, Bo Dunlap, Gil Janner, Tyler Kmiec, Clay Loper, Dusty Parker, and Philip Shafer. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Lee Dahmann and Ronnie Parker. Memorials may be directed to the Independence Baptist Church Benevolence Fund. Funeral arrangements for Vinnie Rene Schroeder Jaster are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
