Viola Eben

Funeral services for Viola Eben, 92, of Industry, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Welcome Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mrs. Eben passed away Sept. 5, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Viola Eben was born May 29, 1922 in Welcome to Ben W. and Selma Wensel Huebner. She was baptized and confirmed at Welcome Lutheran Church, where she was married to Ben Eben on March 28, 1940. Mrs. Eben was a lifelong member of Welcome Lutheran Church. She was employed as a nurses'' aide until her retirement. Survivors include sons Lawrence Eben of Industry, Winfred Eben and wife Ada of Cat Spring, and Edward Eben of Industry; grandchildren Jennifer Eben, John Eben, and Sarah Eben, and a sister, Shirley Klaus. She was preceded in death by her mother, Selma Wensel Huebner, father, Ben W. Heubner, and stepmother, Paula Bernshausen Huebner; husband, Ben Eben; grandson, Kevin Eben, daughter-in-law, Mae Dell Eben, sister, Darlene Canik, and brother-in-law, Roy Klaus. Serving as pallbearers are Leonard Wittneben, Kirby Klump, Bobby Reichle, Clemons Faist, Paul Faist, and Billy Schmidt. Memorials may be directed to Welcome Lutheran Church of Welcome Building Fund.
