Viola Henslee

August 20, 1916 — June 10, 2006

Viola "Vi"Emily Henslee, longtime resident of Brenham, passed away on June 10, 2006. She was born in Leroy, Texas on August 20, 1916. Her husband of 70 years, Jack Henslee, preceded her in death last month on May 24th. Vi is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Beverly Maddox and Karen & Neill Meier, by her grandson: Craig Maddox, and brothers & sisters-in-law: Robert & Christina Schultz of Temple and Wilburn & Madeline Schultz of Plano. Vi is preceded in death by her parents, A.C. & Emma Schultz, her grandson, Mark Maddox, and by her sister, Esther. Vi worked at Van Dyke Rankin & Company for 41 years and considered everyone that she worked with as being her extended family. Special thanks to the caring staff at Bluebonnet Hills Care Center, along with the caregivers at AMA that gave so much of themselves. Services will be held on Saturday, June 17th at 1:00 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel; 1306 W. Main St.-Brenham, with Pastor Dale Chance of First Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers are Andrew Ebel, Ken Higdon, Charles Matejowsky, Bob Rankin, Zack Sadler, Bob Schultz, Bill Schultz, Eddie Van Dyke. Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Brenham.
