Viola Emma Ullrich, 100, of Brenham, formerly of Carmine, widow of Arthur H. Ullrich, died June 27, 2007 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Mrs. Ullrich was born June 26, 1907 in Greenvine, Texas to Ernest and Ida Renck Braun. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Mrs. Ullrich was educated in the Hills and Round Top schools. On December 26, 1936, she married Arthur H. Ullrich in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. She was a homemaker, and a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine, the Ladies Aid and the 42 Club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, and playing dominoes. She loved her family. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Otto Wehring of Brenham; daughter-in-law, Verbie Weiss of Brenham; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Melvin Albers of Houston; grandchildren: Randy and Marilyn Ullrich, Vickie and Charles Goeke, Vilette and Roy Finke, Joel and Michelle Wehring, Joan Wehring, Jay and Paula Wehring, Ray and Tiffany Weiss, Paul and Laura Weiss, and Todd Weiss; great-grandchildren: Abby, Jeremy, and Remy Ullrich, Brandon and Courtney Goeke, Brianne and Troy Addicks, Brooke and Russell Schrader, Brandt Goeke, Vonda, Kyle and Ryne Finke, Rachel and Jason Wehring, Mattison and Lexi Wehring, Kevin and Shawn Weiss, Garrison and Hannah Weiss; great-great grandchildren: Ella, Ava, and Emma Goeke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Ullrich, in 1971; son, Arthur D. Ullrich, and her brothers: Willie, Walter, Alfred and Erich Braun. Funeral services for Viola Emma Ullrich will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine, with Pastor Paul Bohat officiating. Burial will follow in the Carmine cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Joel Wehring, Jay Wehring, Randy Ullrich, Roy Finke, Charles Goeke, Ray Weiss, Paul Weiss, Todd Weiss, Ray Rosenbaum and Floyd Braun. Her great-grandchildren and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Ullrich will lie in state at Memorial Oaks Chapel until Friday at 9:00 a.m., with visitation to begin at 10 a.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Visitation with family and friends will take place from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Foehner Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
