Virginia Wolfe, 78, of Brenham, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, at her residence. Mrs. Wolfe was born Feb. 11, 1925, in Houston, to Clifford T. and Pearl L. Walters McAlexander. She was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School in Houston. In 1952, she was baptized in Garden Oaks Baptist Church. During World War II, she worked at the Ellington Air Force Base, where she met her husband, Boyd V. Wolfe of Tulsa, Oklahoma. They were married Aug. 9, 1946 in Houston. Mrs. Wolfe worked at the Veterans Administration in Houston and moved to Brenham in 1953. In Brenham, she worked for Wolfe Real Estate and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brenham. Survivors include her son, Wayne A. Wolfe of Houston; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Rick Bodish of Somerville; and brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Betty McAlexander of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford McAlexander; mother, Pearl McAlexander; husband, Boyd Wolfe, on Dec. 30, 1992; a brother, Callie McAlexander; and a sister, Doris Ashby. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28 in Calvary Baptist Church in Brenham with Rev. Larry Embry officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pallbearers will be deacons of Calvary Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
