Vivian Mahlmann Maass, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2013, following complications from a stroke. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Welcome Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Burial will take place in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Vivian Maass was born March 7, 1929 to Herman and Edna Walchiek Mahlmann. She was baptized and confirmed at Welcome Lutheran Church, and attended the Welcome School. She married Alton Maass on November 9, 1948 in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Ora Nell Mahlmann of Nelsonville; sister-in-law, Edith Maass of Texarkana, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton Maass, son, Harold Maass, and brothers Bailey and Norris Mahlmann. Serving as pallbearers are Clinton Maass, Clarence Mahlmann, Jr., Mike Hardy, Marvin Ottmer, Carroll Machos, and Jack Luedke. Memorials may be directed to Welcome Lutheran Church.
