Walter William Gamache, 80, passed away April 24, 2007 at his home in Burton, Texas. Born in Bridgeport, CT. on Oct. 10, 1926, he was the youngest child of Louis Hormidas and Bess Mitchell Gamache. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert W. Gamache. He is survived by his sister, Jean Garrison; wife, Linda K. Gamache; children, Clare Wilson, Lisa Rodriguez, Elinor Gamache; stepchildren: Kelly Marie Hunter, Michael Dickson, and Chuck Dickson; grandchildren: Jennifer Dupre, Nicholas Wilson, Isabella Rodriguez, Austin, Brooke, Cayla and Danielle Dickson, Charles and William Brooks, and Rose Hunter, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill received his formal education in Bridgeport, CT. and Houston, TX where he attended the University of Houston. With a work history of 46 years in building construction, he retired after 20 years as a Project Manager, having completed work on the UH Main Campus, opening of UH Clear Lake campus, and remodeling of the UH Downtown campus. Bill received an honorable discharge from the US Army, 21st infantry, Taro Leaf Division in WWII that took him to Japan and the Philippine Islands. Graveside ceremony for family and friends will be on April 26 at 11 a.m. at the Christian Church Cemetery located on Christian Cemetery Road just off FM 2780. Immediately following at 12 p.m., a memorial service will be held at the Bethany Christian Church, 307 Brazos St. in Burton, TX.
