Walter Alvin Seilheimer, 87, of Burton, died July 13, 2014, at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, July 13 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Seilheimer was born April 13, 1927 in Washington County, TX, to John A. and Minnie Roehling Seilheimer. He was a rancher and retired from the City of Brenham Street Department. He enjoyed rock hunting, fishing, deer hunting, taxidermy and visits from his cousins, nephews and neighbors. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Juanita Seilheimer of Brenham; nephews, Craig Gaskamp, Allen Wayne Gaskamp, Jeffery Gaskamp; and numerous cousins. Special caregivers were Peggy Novak, Sheila Hicks, Melissa Soriano, Julian Vasquez and Dena Haas. He was preceded in death by his son, Rory Seilheimer; brothers, Allen, Lonnie and Warren Seilheimer; sister, LaVerna Gaskamp; and nephews, Bobby and Howard Seilheimer. Pallbearers will be Allen Wayne Gaskamp, Craig Gaskamp, Jeffery Gaskamp, Nelson Seilheimer, Ricky Seilheimer, Roger Seilheimer and Gregg Jones. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., Brenham.
