Wanda Schmidt

Wanda Kenjura Schmidt, 92, of Brenham, passed away February 6, 2008 in Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Mrs. Schmidt was born August 18, 1915 in Anderson, Texas to Joe and Kathryn Warchesik Kenjura. She was baptized in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church of Anderson, and later confirmed at St. Mary''s Catholic Church of Brenham. Mrs. Schmidt attended Wiedeville School and St. Mary''s Catholic School. On February 19, 1935, she married Walter Schmidt in St. Mary''s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death August 24, 1993. Mrs. Schmidt was a homemaker. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Merle Majewski and husband Bruno of Houston; grandchildren: Sharon Smith and husband Larry, Gerard Majewski, and Jeffrey Majewski and wife Michelle; great-grandchildren: Gary Majewski and wife Melissa, DeeAnn Smith, Tiffany Smith, Kate Majewski and Cameron Majewski; brother, Alex Kenjura and wife Ruth; brother Raymond Kenjura and wife Joy; sisters Martha Haskins and Josephine Villa. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Julian Kenjura, Harry Kenjura, Louis Kenjura, and a sister, Mary Kenjura and by brothers-in-law B.M. Haskins and Jesse Villa. Funeral services for Wanda Schmidt will take place at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008 at St. Mary''s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.A rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be given to St. Mary''s Catholic Church Building Fund.
