Welma Wanda Schwartz, 82, of Brenham, died Sept. 27, 2006, in Trinity Care Center. She was born April 21, 1924 in Gay Hill, Texas to Otto and Ida Hermann Duesterhoft. She was confirmed in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin and attended Possum Trot School. On Sept. 23, 1943, she was married to Harold Schwartz, Sr. in Anderson, Texas. She was a member of Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin, volunteered with the SHAPe Center and Faith Mission and was a member of Citizens on Patrol. Survivors include five sons and four daughters-in-law, Harold Jr. and Gladys Schwartz, Elroy Schwartz, Jerry and Patricia Schwartz, David and Tammy Schwartz and Randy and Mischelle Schwartz, all of Brenham; one brother and sister-in-law, Otto and Ora Dean Duesterhoft of Deanville; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Thomas Townley of Brenham; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Schwartz, Sr.; her parents; brothers, Ervin Duesterhoft, Herbert Duesterhoft and Raymond Duesterhoft; and sisters, Elsie Poehl and Carrie Mae Duesterhoft. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Schwartz, Nicholas Schwartz, Douglas Duesterhoft, Otto Duesterhoft, Jr., Allan Duesterhoft and Vincent Hensen. Memorials may be given to Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin.
