Wendell Rudloff

Wendell Henry Rudloff, 75, of Fayetteville, died Dec. 23, 2016, in Giddings, TX.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Mr. Rudloff was born on May 22, 1941, in Shelby, TX, the son of Ben and Elsie (Ehrigson) Rudolff.
He was baptized on July 27, 1941 by Rev. Julius Bosshard and confirmed April 3, 1955 by Rev. W.E. Doerr in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby, Texas. Confirmation verse: Philippians 2:5-11.
He married the former Maxine Schlabach on July 14, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Shelby, TX.
After graduating from Bellville High School in 1959, Rudy studied at Blinn College, received his B.S. degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, his M.B.A. degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and did post-graduate studies at both Oklahoma State University and Prairie View A & M.
He was a career educator, having been with the El Campo School System for 33 years -24 years as a teacher and nine years as an assistant principal in charge of the Career and Technology Center. Upon his retirement he moved to his beloved Harry's Hill and worked for a local concrete company as an office manager, dispatcher, and truck driver which he really enjoyed.
He was a life member of Texas State Teachers Association, served in various offices of the Shelby VFD, was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Shelby Lodge #28 of the Sons of Hermann, and West End Water Board.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Nicole Rudloff of Cheyenne, WY: daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Scott Baker of Grand Prairie; grandchildren, Jacy Rudloff of Cheyene, WY and Henley and Elsa Baker of Grand Prairie; sister, Dolores Zickuhr of Columbus; sisters-in-law, Elvera Rudloff of Burton and Ruby Rudloff of Chilton; brother-in-law, Mike Koepnick of Schulenburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Waldine and Glenroy Ebner of Giddings; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.
Rudy was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Rudloff ; his parents, Ben and Elsie Rudloff; brothers, Burnie Rudloff and Perry Rudloff; brother-in-law, John Zickuhr; sister, Evelyn Koepnick; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Elsa Schlabach.
Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Soechting, Ray Palt, Graig Hardin and Norman Jasek.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby.
